Method

Pork Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Pork

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this mixture all over the pork shoulder.

  2. 2

    Slow Cook the Pork

Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

BBQ Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 4

    Cook the BBQ Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes until thickened.

  3. 5

    Mix Sauce with Pork

Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Mix the shredded pork with the prepared BBQ sauce.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Sandwiches

Place a generous portion of BBQ pulled pork on the bottom half of each hamburger bun. Top with coleslaw if desired, and then place the top half of the bun over the filling.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the BBQ pulled pork sandwiches warm and enjoy!
