Method
Brisket Preparation
- 1
Season the Brisket
In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Rub this spice mixture all over the brisket, ensuring it is evenly coated.
- 2
Cook the Brisket
Place the seasoned brisket in a slow cooker. Add liquid smoke and beef broth. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
BBQ Sauce Preparation
- 3
Mix the BBQ Sauce
In a saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened, about 10 minutes.
Coleslaw Preparation
- 4
Prepare the Vegetables
In a large bowl, combine shredded green cabbage and grated carrots.
- 5
Make the Coleslaw Dressing
In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
- 6
Combine the Slaw
Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots. Toss until all the vegetables are evenly coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
