Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Combine

Add 2 oz rye whiskey, 1/2 oz Bénédictine, 1/2 oz dry vermouth and 2 dashes Angostura bitters to a mixing glass.

  2. 2

    Add ice and stir

Fill the mixing glass with ice (about 1 cup) and stir gently for 20–30 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.

  3. 3

    Strain

Strain the chilled cocktail into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass.

  4. 4

    Garnish

Express a lemon twist over the drink to release oils, run it around the rim if desired, and drop it in as garnish.

  5. 5

Optional: for a hint of cherry, add 1/4 tsp maraschino liqueur to the mixing glass before stirring. This is not traditional in this variation but can be used to echo the Brooklyn's cherry note.
