Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brussels Sprouts

Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or damaged leaves. Cut them in half lengthwise.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté the Brussels Sprouts

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the halved Brussels sprouts and season with salt and pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they start to brown.

  2. 4

    Add Garlic

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 5

    Prepare the Glaze

In a small saucepan, combine the sherry, honey, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 5 minutes, allowing it to reduce slightly.

  4. 6

    Combine and Roast

Pour the sherry glaze over the Brussels sprouts in the skillet. Toss to coat the sprouts evenly, then transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Roast for about 15-20 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are tender and caramelized.

Serving

  1. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the Brussels sprouts from the oven. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and toasted walnuts, if using. Serve warm as a side dish.
