Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the salmon
Rinse the Jail Island salmon fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the fillets with salt and black pepper.
- 2
Prepare the lemon and dill
Zest the lemon and then cut it in half. Set aside one half for garnish and juice the other half. Chop the fresh dill finely.
Cooking
- 3
Heat the skillet
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
- 4
Sear the salmon
Place the seasoned salmon fillets skin-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes without moving them to allow a crispy skin to form.
- 5
Flip the salmon
Carefully flip the fillets using a spatula and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- 6
Add lemon and dill
During the last minute of cooking, add the lemon juice and chopped dill to the skillet, spooning the mixture over the salmon.
