Method

Preparing the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Add Old Bay Seasoning

Once the water is boiling, add 2 tablespoons of Old Bay seasoning to the pot.

  3. 3

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the boiling water. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  4. 4

    Drain and Chill

Remove the pot from heat, drain the shrimp, and transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Allow them to chill for about 5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Drain Again

Once chilled, drain the shrimp again and pat them dry with paper towels.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 6

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish sauce, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.

  2. 7

    Season to Taste

Mix well and add salt to taste. Adjust the horseradish if you prefer a spicier sauce.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Shrimp

Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter.

  2. 9

    Serve with Sauce

Serve with the cocktail sauce on the side for dipping.
