Method

Juice Preparation

  1. 1

    For Cranberry Juice

Rinse the fresh cranberries under cold water and remove any stems or damaged berries. Place the cranberries in a large pot with 4 cups of water.

  2. 2

    Cooking Cranberries

Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the cranberries burst and soften.

  3. 3

    Straining the Juice

Remove the pot from heat and let it cool slightly. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large bowl to collect the juice. Press down on the solids to extract as much juice as possible.

  4. 4

    Adding Sugar and Lemon Juice

Stir in 1 cup of sugar and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice into the strained juice until the sugar dissolves completely. Adjust sweetness to taste.

Apple Juice Preparation

  1. 5

    For Apple Juice

Wash the fresh apples thoroughly. Cut them into quarters, removing the seeds and stems. No need to peel the apples.

  2. 6

    Cooking Apples

Place the apple quarters in a large pot with 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to low and simmer for 20-30 minutes, until the apples are soft.

  3. 7

    Straining the Juice

Remove the pot from heat and let it cool slightly. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large bowl to collect the juice, pressing the solids to extract maximum juice.

  4. 8

    Adding Sugar and Lemon Juice

Mix in 1 cup of sugar and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice into the strained apple juice until fully dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness as desired.

Flavoring (Optional)

  1. 9

    Add Flavorings

If desired, add cinnamon sticks, ginger, and cloves to the juice. Allow the juice to sit for at least an hour to infuse flavors, then strain out the solids.
