Method

Crab Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and egg. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  2. 2

    Form Cakes

Gently mix the ingredients until just combined, being careful not to break the crab meat. Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.

  3. 3

    Broil Cakes

Place the crab cakes on a broiler-safe baking sheet and broil on high for about 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Flip halfway through cooking for even browning.

Tartar Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, relish, lemon juice, capers, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste and refrigerate until ready to use.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare Vegetables

Slice the tomato into even slices.

  2. 6

    Assemble Sandwich

On each burger bun, place a leaf of lettuce, followed by a crab cake, sliced tomatoes, pickles, and a generous dollop of tartar sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the crab cake sandwiches immediately and enjoy!
