Add Garlic and Deglaze
Add the minced garlic to the pot and cook for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the dry white wine and scrape the bottom of the pot to deglaze it. Allow the wine to reduce for about 5 minutes.

Add Broth and Seasonings
Pour in the beef broth, add the thyme, bay leaves, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Prepare the Bread
While the soup is simmering, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the slices of French bread on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
