Earl Grey Black Tea

Relaxing Mint (Peppermint) Tea

Method

Earl Grey Black Tea

  1. 1

    Heat water

Bring 4 cups of fresh cold water to a rolling boil (about 212°F / 100°C) in a kettle or saucepan.

  2. 2

    Steep tea

Place 4 teaspoons of Earl Grey loose-leaf tea into a teapot or infuser. Pour the boiling water over the leaves. Cover and steep for 3–5 minutes depending on desired strength (3 minutes for lighter, 5 for stronger).

  3. 3

    Strain and serve

Strain the leaves into cups. Offer lemon slices, honey, and milk as accompaniments. Add honey or milk to taste and one lemon slice if preferred. Serve immediately.

Relaxing Mint (Peppermint) Tea

  1. 4

    Prepare water

Bring 4 cups of fresh cold water to a gentle boil (about 208–212°F / 98–100°C).

  2. 5

    Rinse leaves (if using fresh)

If using fresh peppermint leaves, briefly rinse them under cool water to remove any dirt or grit.

  3. 6

    Steep peppermint

Place 12 fresh peppermint leaves (or 2 peppermint tea bags) into a teapot or infuser. Pour the hot water over the leaves. Cover and steep for 5–8 minutes for a calming, aromatic infusion (longer steep gives stronger mint).

  4. 7

    Strain and sweeten

Strain the tea into cups. Add honey and a lemon slice if desired. Serve hot and enjoy as a relaxing beverage.

Tropical Green Tea

  1. 8

    Heat water (lower temperature)

Heat 4 cups of water to 175–185°F (80–85°C). If you do not have a thermometer, bring to a simmer and let sit 2–3 minutes to cool slightly from a boil.

  2. 9

    Combine tea and fruit

Place 4 teaspoons of green tea and 1/2 cup of dried or small fresh pineapple pieces into a teapot or infuser. If using dried pineapple, you may briefly rinse to remove surface sugar if desired.

  3. 10

    Steep gently

Pour the heated (not boiling) water over the tea and pineapple. Cover and steep for 2–3 minutes for delicate green tea flavor with tropical notes. If you prefer stronger fruit infusion, steep up to 4 minutes.

  4. 11

    Strain, sweeten, and garnish

Strain the infusion into cups, including small pieces of pineapple if you like. Sweeten with agave or honey to taste and garnish with fresh mint leaves. Serve warm.
