Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Coffee

Brew 240 ml of strong espresso coffee and let it cool. If desired, stir in 30 ml of coffee liqueur for added flavor.

  2. 2

    Make the Mascarpone Mixture

In a bowl, whisk together 100 g of granulated sugar and 3 egg yolks until the mixture is pale and creamy. Gently fold in 500 g of mascarpone cheese and 1 tsp of vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Whip the Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 200 ml of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Dip the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger biscuit into the cooled espresso, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Lay them in a single layer in a dish.

  2. 5

    Layer the Mixture

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers, smoothing the top with a spatula.

  3. 6

    Repeat Layers

Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture on top.

  4. 7

    Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.

Finishing Touches

  1. 8

    Dust with Cocoa Powder

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with 30 g of cocoa powder using a fine sieve for an elegant finish.

  2. 9

    Serve

Cut into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy your homemade classic Italian tiramisu!
