Steak
House-Made Fries
Method
Steak Preparation
- 1
- 2
Cook the Steak
Preheat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (135°F for medium-rare).
- 3
Rest the Steak
Remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest on a plate for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
- 4
Garnish
Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the steaks before serving.
Fries Preparation
- 5
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into even strips, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
- 6
- 7
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 8
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the soaked and dried potato strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 9
Season the Fries
While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt to taste.
