Hummus

Pita and Veggies

Method

Hummus Preparation

  1. 1

    Blend the Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the cooked chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, fresh lemon juice, garlic clove, ground cumin, salt, and water.

  2. 2

    Process Until Smooth

Blend the mixture until smooth, pausing to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. If the mixture is too thick, add additional water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until you reach the desired consistency.

  3. 3

    Season to Taste

Taste the hummus and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lemon juice if desired.

  4. 4

    Garnish

Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle paprika over the top.

Serving

  1. 5

    Prepare the Pita and Veggies

While the hummus is being prepared, wash and cut the carrots, cucumber, and bell pepper into sticks or bite-sized pieces.

  2. 6

    Warm the Pita

Warm the pita bread in a toaster or on a skillet for a few minutes until soft and pliable.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the hummus with the warm pita and fresh veggies on a platter for dipping.
