Method

Preparing the Bread

  1. 1

    Slice the Bread

Using a serrated knife, slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2-inch thick slices.

  2. 2

    Toast the Bread

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet. Brush one side of each slice with olive oil. Toast in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Preparing the Topping

  1. 3

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 4

    Add Basil and Garlic

Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. Add both to the bowl with the tomatoes.

  3. 5

    Season the Mixture

Add the balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the tomato mixture. Stir gently until well combined.

Assembling the Bruschetta

  1. 6

    Top the Bread

Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato topping generously onto the toasted side of each bread slice.

  2. 7

    Serve

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and enjoy immediately while the bread is still warm!
