Biscuit and Sandwich Components

Method

Preparation and Assembly

  1. 1

    Make the Biscuits

Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the buttermilk until just combined. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead gently, and pat to about 1-inch thickness. Cut out biscuits with a round cutter and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

  2. 2

    Cook the Meat

In a skillet over medium heat, cook your choice of sausage, ham, or bacon until crispy and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.

  3. 3

    Fry the Eggs

In the same skillet, crack the eggs and fry them to your desired doneness. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the freshly baked biscuit in half. Place the cooked meat on the bottom half, add a slice of white cheddar cheese, and top with a fried egg. Place the top half of the biscuit on to finish the sandwich.
