Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly using a mandoline or sharp knife.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Cream Mixture

In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg. Heat gently until just warmed but not boiling.

  4. 4

    Layer the Ingredients

In a greased baking dish, arrange a layer of sliced potatoes. Pour some of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle with grated Gruyère cheese. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.

  5. 5

    Add Butter

Dot the top layer with small pieces of butter.

  6. 6

    Bake the Gratin

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

  7. 7

    Cooling and Serving

Let the gratin cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy your Pommes Gratin!
