Method

Smoothie Base

1

Prepare fruit

If bananas are not already sliced and frozen, peel and slice 1 medium banana and freeze for at least 1–2 hours. Measure 1.5 cups of frozen mixed berries (berries can be a blend of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries).

2

Place frozen mixed berries, frozen banana slices, 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, and 1 cup unsweetened almond milk into a high-speed blender jar.

3

Add 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract to the blender for sweetness and flavor.

4

If you prefer a thicker smoothie, add 4 ice cubes; if you prefer thinner, add an extra 2–4 tablespoons of almond milk.

5

Secure the blender lid and blend on high for 45–60 seconds, or until the mixture is completely smooth and no large fruit pieces remain. Stop and scrape down the sides once if necessary, then blend again briefly.

6

Taste and adjust sweetness: add up to 1 additional teaspoon of honey/maple syrup if needed, or a splash more almond milk to loosen.

Add-ins & Boosters (optional)

7

If using chia seeds, ground flaxseed, or protein powder, add them to the blender with the base ingredients before blending so they incorporate evenly.

8

For the best texture when adding protein powder, use one scoop and blend an additional 10–15 seconds until fully mixed. Chia seeds may slightly thicken the smoothie if allowed to sit for a few minutes.

Serve & Garnish

9

Pour the smoothie into two medium glasses (or one large glass).

10

Garnish each serving with fresh mint leaves and a sprinkle of sliced fresh berries if desired.

11

Serve immediately with a straw. If storing, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within 24 hours; shake or stir before drinking as separation may occur.
