Method
Preparing the Bread
- 1
Slice the Baguette
Cut the baguette diagonally into 1/2 inch thick slices.
- 2
Toast the Bread
Brush each slice with olive oil and place them on a baking sheet. Toast in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Preparing the Topping
- 3
Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
- 4
Add Basil and Garlic
Chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. Add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.
- 5
Season the Mixture
Add salt and black pepper to the tomato mixture. Gently stir everything together until well combined.
Assembling the Bruschetta
- 6
Top the Toasted Bread
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice of toasted baguette.
- 7
Serve Immediately
Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is warm and the topping is fresh.
