Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels. Slice them into halves or quarters, depending on your preference.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In a shallow bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
Frying
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Bread the Pickles
Dunk each pickle piece first in the egg mixture, then dredge it in the flour mixture, ensuring it's well-coated.
- 5
Fry the Pickles
Carefully place the breaded pickles in the hot oil, frying in batches as necessary to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
