Prepare the Cake Batter
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Bake the Cake
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.

Prepare the Frosting
In a medium bowl, beat together the butter and cocoa powder until smooth.

Assemble the Cake
Once the cake layers are completely cool, frost the top of one layer, place the second layer on top, and frost the top and sides of the cake.
