Cauliflower Wings

Hot Honey Sauce

Method

Preparing the Cauliflower

  1. 1

    Cut the Cauliflower

Remove the leaves from the cauliflower and cut it into bite-sized florets.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add cold water to form a smooth batter.

Frying the Cauliflower

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 4

    Coat and Fry

Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully add to the hot oil. Fry in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Making the Hot Honey Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, hot sauce, butter, and minced garlic. Stir until butter is melted and the mixture is well combined.

  2. 6

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer and cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Tossing and Serving

  1. 7

    Toss the Wings

In a large bowl, toss the fried cauliflower wings in the hot honey sauce until well coated.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot, optionally garnished with chopped parsley or sesame seeds.
