Brownie Preparation

Melt Butter and Combine Sugars
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, sift together all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Gently fold in the dark chocolate chips.

Bake the Brownies
Pour the brownie batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Cool Brownies
Once done, remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares.

Heat Cream
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Do not boil.

Melt Chocolate
Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the dark chocolate, stirring until it melts and combines smoothly with the cream.

Add Bourbon and Sugar
Stir in the bourbon, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt until well incorporated.

Serve the Sauce
Keep the sauce warm until ready to serve, or reheat gently if needed.
