Classic Cola

Method

Classic Cola

1

Prepare glass and ice

Fill a tall glass with 6 ice cubes. Chilling the glass first is optional but recommended for a colder drink.

2

Measure 2 tablespoons of cola syrup or concentrate and pour it over the ice.

3

Slowly pour 1 cup of chilled sparkling water over the syrup to preserve carbonation. Stir gently once or twice with a bar spoon to combine without flattening the soda.

4

Garnish with an optional lime wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.

Homemade Lemon-Lime Soda

5

Combine juices and sweetener

In a mixing glass or shaker, combine 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice and 1 tablespoon chilled simple syrup. Stir briefly to mix.

6

Fill a serving glass with 6 ice cubes. Pour the citrus and syrup mixture over the ice.

7

Slowly top with 1 cup chilled sparkling water. Stir gently once to integrate ingredients while preserving bubbles.

8

Garnish with a lemon or lime wheel and adjust sweetness to taste (add more simple syrup if desired). Serve immediately.

Ginger Ale (Quick)

9

Build the drink

Place 6 ice cubes in a glass. Add 1.5 tablespoons ginger syrup (or ginger beer concentrate) and 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice.

10

Slowly add 1 cup chilled sparkling water. Stir gently just once to combine.

11

Taste and adjust ginger intensity or sweetness by adding a little more syrup or a dash of simple syrup. Garnish with a thin slice of fresh ginger if desired. Serve immediately.

Fruit Fizz (Mixed Berry)

12

Prepare berry mixture

If using whole berries, puree 2 tablespoons worth with a splash of water and strain if desired. Combine the berry puree (or 2 tablespoons syrup) with 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice and 1 teaspoon simple syrup if the puree is unsweetened.

13

Fill a serving glass with 1/2 cup crushed ice. Spoon the berry mixture over the crushed ice.

14

Slowly pour 1 cup chilled sparkling water over the berry mixture. Stir lightly to create a marbled fizz effect.

15

Garnish with a mint sprig and a few whole berries if available. Serve immediately.

Serve & Optional Add-ins

16

Optional bitters: add a dash (about 1/2 teaspoon) of aromatic or fruit bitters to any of the above drinks for complexity. Stir gently.

17

Optional flavored syrups: for a specialty variation (vanilla cola, cherry cola), add about 1 teaspoon of the desired flavored syrup to the drink before topping with sparkling water and stir gently.

18

Always serve soft drinks immediately after assembly to retain the carbonation and best flavor.
