Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mozzarella Sticks

Start by placing the mozzarella cheese sticks in the freezer for about 30 minutes to firm them up. This will help them hold their shape during frying.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour in the first bowl, beat the eggs in the second bowl, and mix the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder in the third bowl.

Breading

  1. 3

    Bread the Cheese Sticks

Take a mozzarella stick from the freezer, coat it in flour, making sure to shake off any excess. Dip the floured stick into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess egg to drip off. Finally, roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs. Repeat this process for all mozzarella sticks.

  2. 4

    Double Coat for Extra Crispiness

For extra crispy mozzarella sticks, dip the breaded sticks back into the egg and then again into the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure that they are well-coated.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of bread into it; if it sizzles and rises to the surface, the oil is ready.

  2. 6

    Fry the Mozzarella Sticks

Carefully add a few mozzarella sticks to the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 1-2 minutes until golden brown, turning occasionally for even cooking.

  3. 7

    Drain on Paper Towels

Once fried, remove the mozzarella sticks with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve Hot

Serve the mozzarella sticks hot with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce on the side.
