Chocolate Mixture

Toppings (optional)

Method

Preparing the Chocolate Mixture

  1. 1

    Melt the Chocolate

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and milk chocolate. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method). Stir occasionally until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.

  2. 2

    Add Cream and Butter

Once the chocolate is melted, remove the bowl from heat. Add the heavy cream and butter to the melted chocolate. Stir continuously until the mixture is well combined and smooth.

  3. 3

    Flavor It

Stir in the vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture until evenly incorporated.

  4. 4

    Chill the Mixture

Transfer the chocolate mixture into a shallow dish. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 2 hours or until the mixture is firm.

Forming the Truffles

  1. 5

    Scoop the Mixture

Using a small cookie scoop or a teaspoon, scoop out portions of the chilled chocolate mixture.

  2. 6

    Roll into Balls

Using your hands, quickly roll the scoops into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter). Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Coating the Truffles

  1. 7

    Choose Your Toppings

If desired, roll the truffles in chopped nuts, cocoa powder, or shredded coconut to coat them.

  2. 8

    Chill Again

Place the coated truffles back on the baking sheet and refrigerate for an additional 30 minutes to set the coating.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve and Enjoy

Once the truffles are set, serve them on a decorative plate. Enjoy your homemade Godiva chocolate truffles!
