Chicken Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Start by flattening the chicken breast slightly to ensure even cooking. You can do this by placing the chicken between two sheets of plastic wrap and pounding it with a meat mallet.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, pour the buttermilk, add salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well. Place the chicken breasts in the buttermilk mixture, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
- 3
Coat the Chicken
In a shallow dish, place the all-purpose flour. Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator, allowing excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge each piece in flour, making sure to coat evenly. Set aside.
- 4
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot (about 350°F/175°C), carefully place the coated chicken breasts in the skillet. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

- 5
Toast the Buns
While the chicken is frying, slice the hamburger buns in half and lightly toast them on a skillet or under a broiler until golden brown.
- 6
Prepare the Vegetables
Wash the lettuce leaves and pat them dry. Slice the tomato into thin rounds.
- 7
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a fried chicken breast on top, followed by lettuce and tomato slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
- 8
Serve
Serve the sandwiches immediately while hot. Enjoy your CC's Chicken Sandwich!
