Main Ingredients

Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

In a large bowl, mix together the olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub the mixture all over the pork ribs to ensure they are well coated.

  2. 2

    Sear the Ribs

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the ribs for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. This step enhances the flavor.

  3. 3

    Slow Cook the Ribs

Transfer the seared ribs to a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or until the ribs are tender and easily pull apart.

Making the BBQ Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, mustard, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 5

    Simmer the Sauce

Heat the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally. Let it cook for about 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened.

Finishing Touches

  1. 6

    Glaze the Ribs

Once the ribs are cooked, brush them generously with the BBQ sauce. If desired, you can place them under a broiler for 2-3 minutes to caramelize the sauce.

  2. 7

    Serve

Remove the ribs from the slow cooker, cut into portions, and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
