- 2
- 3
Combine ingredients
Stir in the canned diced tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, and water. Mix well.
- 4
Simmer
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Fried Onion Rings
- 5
Prepare the batter
In a bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Gradually whisk in the cold water until smooth.
- 6
Heat the oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).
- 7
Fry the onion rings
Dip each onion ring into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- 8
Drain and serve
Remove the fried onion rings from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season with additional salt if desired.
Pickles
- 9
Prepare the pickles
Simply arrange the pickle slices in a serving dish. No cooking required.
Chili Cheese Fries
- 10
Cook the fries
Prepare the frozen French fries according to package instructions, either by baking or frying.
- 11
Assemble the dish
Once the fries are cooked, place them on a serving plate. Top with the prepared chili and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- 12
Melt the cheese
Place the assembled fries in the oven for 5 minutes at 350°F (175°C) until the cheese is melted.
