Preparing the Burger Patty

Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.

Form the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Add Cheese
After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for another 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.

Butter the Buns
Spread butter on the cut sides of the burger buns.

Prepare the Toppings
Slice the tomato and onion into thin rings. Rinse the lettuce leaves and pat them dry.

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, onion rings, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
