Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patties

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and form into two equal-sized patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Burgers

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt the cheese.

  3. 3

    Toast the Buns

While the burgers are cooking, split the burger buns and lightly toast them on the skillet until golden brown.

Chili Preparation

  1. 4

    Cook the Chili Base

In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef for the chili until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.

  2. 5

    Add Vegetables and Spices

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Sauté until the onion is translucent. Stir in the canned diced tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 6

    Simmer the Chili

Pour in the water, bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assemble the Chzburger Combo

  1. 7

    Layer the Burgers

Place each cheesy burger patty on the bottom half of the toasted burger buns.

  2. 8

    Smother with Chili

Spoon a generous amount of the prepared chili over each burger patty.

  3. 9

    Add Toppings

Top with chopped green onions and a dollop of sour cream, then place the top half of the burger buns on each assembly.
