Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish by greasing it lightly with butter or cooking spray.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs. Add the milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Mix until fully combined.

Baking

  1. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

  2. 5

    Add Chocolate Chips and Nuts

Fold in the chocolate chips and, if desired, the chopped nuts into the batter.

  3. 6

    Pour and Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cooling and Serving

  1. 7

    Cool

Remove from the oven and allow the dish to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

  2. 8

    Slice and Serve

Once cooled, slice into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
