Method

Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until evenly mixed.

3

Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and egg until well combined.

4

Combine Mixtures

Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients while stirring gently. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.

Baking

5

Prepare the Baking Pan

Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

6

Pour Batter

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

7

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

8

Cool

Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Topping

9

Prepare Strawberries

Wash and slice the fresh strawberries.

10

Make Whipped Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add powdered sugar and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.

11

Assemble

Once the base is cooled, cut into squares. Top each square with sliced strawberries and a dollop of whipped cream.
