Seafood Preparation

Open and Drain
Open the cans of sardines and mussels. Drain the excess oil and liquid from each can into a bowl to reserve for later use.

Set Aside
Set the drained seafood aside while preparing the other components.
Black Olive Butter Preparation

Blend Until Smooth
Blend the mixture until it reaches a smooth and creamy consistency.

Taste and Adjust
Taste the black olive butter and adjust seasoning with salt if needed.
Piada Preparation

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.

Add Wet Ingredients
Make a well in the center and add the water and olive oil.

Knead Dough
Mix until the dough comes together, then knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Cook Piada
Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a thin circle. Cook each piada on a hot skillet for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
Sambal Pepper Relish Preparation

Mix Relish Ingredients
In a small bowl, mix the sambal oelek, lemon juice, and honey together until well combined.

Taste and Adjust
Taste the sambal relish and adjust the amount of lemon juice or honey to your preference.
Assembly

Spread Black Olive Butter
Spread a generous amount of black olive butter onto each piada.

Top with Seafood
Place the drained sardines and mussels on top of the black olive butter.

Add Sambal Relish
Drizzle the sambal pepper relish over the seafood.
