Prepare the Glass
Rub the rim of a chilled cocktail glass with the lime wedge to moisten it, then dip the rim into the salt to coat it evenly. Set the glass aside.

Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, lime juice, and triple sec. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into the prepared cocktail glass over fresh ice if desired. Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim.
