Hot Lobster Roll

Method

Hot Lobster Roll

  1. 1

    Prepare the Lobster

In a medium saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the cooked lobster meat and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until heated through.

  2. 2

    Season the Lobster

Add lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper to the lobster meat. Stir gently to combine and heat for another minute.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Buns

In a separate pan, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Lightly toast the New England-style hot dog buns in the melted butter until golden brown on both sides.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Hot Lobster Roll

Fill each toasted bun generously with the warm lobster mixture. Top with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Cold Lobster Roll

  1. 5

    Prepare the Lobster Salad

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked lobster meat, mayonnaise, finely chopped celery, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly coated.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Slice the New England-style hot dog buns down the center, without cutting all the way through. Optionally, you can toast the buns lightly if desired.

  3. 7

    Assemble the Cold Lobster Roll

Spoon the lobster salad mixture generously into each bun. Sprinkle with chopped fresh chives and serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
