Preparation of Margarita Mix

Make the Simple Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine equal parts water and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Combine Ingredients for Margarita Mix

In a mixing container, combine 1 cup of fresh lime juice with 1 cup of the cooled simple syrup. Stir well to combine and set aside.

Prepare the Glass

Take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of the glass. Dip the rim into salt to coat it evenly.

Combine Ingredients

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine 2 oz of Patrón Tequila, 1 oz of Cointreau, and 2 oz of the homemade margarita mix.

Shake

Cover the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.
