Making the Tomato Sauce

Combine Ingredients
Add the crushed tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and dried oregano to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.

Simmer
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
Assembling the Pizza

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 250°C (482°F) or the highest setting available.

Prepare the Dough
On a floured surface, stretch the pizza dough into a round shape, about 12 inches in diameter. Place it on a pizza stone or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Add Sauce
Spread a generous amount of the prepared tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edge.

Add Cheese
Evenly distribute the slices of fresh mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

Drizzle Olive Oil
Drizzle a tablespoon of olive oil over the top of the pizza.

Bake the Pizza
Carefully place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

Add Basil
Once the pizza is out of the oven, scatter fresh basil leaves on top. Let it cool for a minute or two before slicing.
