Pizza Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Make the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let it Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Tomato Sauce Preparation
- 5
- 6
Combine Ingredients
Add the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Stir to combine.
- 7
Simmer Sauce
Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Assembling the Pizza
- 8
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
- 9
Roll Out the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- 10
Add Sauce and Toppings
Spread a generous amount of the tomato sauce over the rolled-out dough. Top with shredded mozzarella, sliced mushrooms, diced ham, quartered artichokes, and sliced olives.
- 11
Bake the Pizza
Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or onto the hot pizza stone) and bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
