Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of bread crumbs and grated Romano cheese. Season the flour with salt and pepper.
- 2
Bread the Chicken
Coat each chicken breast in flour, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the bread crumb and cheese mixture. Place the breaded chicken on a baking sheet.
- 3
Bake the Chicken
Drizzle olive oil over the breaded chicken. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
- 4
Cook the Linguini
While the chicken is baking, cook the linguini according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 5
Make the Tomato Cream Sauce
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute. Stir in crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 5 minutes. Reduce heat and stir in the heavy cream and fresh basil, cooking until warmed through.
- 6
Combine and Serve
Toss the cooked linguini in the tomato cream sauce. Serve the Romano crusted chicken on top of the linguini and drizzle with additional sauce if desired.
