Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Prepare glass

Chill a highball or Collins glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill with ice water while you build the cocktail and discard water before pouring.

  2. 2

    Build and shake

Fill a cocktail shaker with the measured ice (about 1 cup). Add 2 oz vodka, 2 oz pineapple juice, 1 oz pomegranate juice, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz vanilla syrup. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled.

  3. 3

    Strain

Discard ice from the chilled glass. Double-strain the contents of the shaker into the glass over fresh ice to remove small ice chips and any pulp.

  4. 4

    Top and garnish

Top the drink with 1.5 oz club soda (about a splash) to give a light effervescence. Gently stir once with a bar spoon to integrate. Sprinkle 1 tbsp pomegranate seeds over the top so they sink slightly, add a pineapple wedge to the rim and a lemon twist for aroma.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve immediately with a short straw. Recommend stirring gently again halfway through drinking to redistribute flavors.
