1

Prepare glass (optional)

If you prefer a salted rim, rub a lime wedge around the rim of a highball or Collins glass, then dip the rim into coarse salt to coat evenly. This step is optional for Ranch Water but traditional for some drinkers.

2

Add ice

Fill the prepared glass with cubed ice to near the top (about 1 cup). Using plenty of ice keeps the drink cold and preserves carbonation longer.

3

Pour tequila and lime

Measure and pour 2 oz Montezuma Blanco tequila over the ice, then add 0.5 oz (about 1/2 ounce) fresh lime juice. For a slightly brighter citrus note, you can squeeze the lime wedge used for garnish into the drink before dropping it in.

4

Top with Topo Chico

Slowly top the glass with approximately 4 oz chilled Topo Chico sparkling mineral water. Pour gently over the back of a spoon or down the inside of the glass if you want to preserve maximum effervescence.

5

Stir gently

Give the drink one or two gentle stirs with a bar spoon to combine tequila, lime, and mineral water without flattening too much carbonation.

6

Garnish and serve

Garnish with the lime wedge or wheel on the rim (or dropped into the drink). Serve immediately while the Topo Chico is fizzy.
