Preparing the Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew Espresso

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Mix Espresso and Rum

In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso with 1 cup of rum. Stir gently to mix.

Making the Filling

  1. 3

    Combine Filling Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of mascarpone cheese, 1 cup of heavy cream, 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

  2. 4

    Whip the Filling

Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the mixture on medium speed until soft peaks form.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 5

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the espresso-rum mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 6

    Layer Ladyfingers

Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.

  3. 7

    Add Filling

Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the layer of ladyfingers, smoothing it out evenly.

  4. 8

    Repeat Layers

Repeat the process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone filling.

  5. 9

    Chill Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  6. 10

    Garnish

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder for garnish.
