Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature.

In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso with 1 cup of rum. Stir gently to mix.
Making the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of mascarpone cheese, 1 cup of heavy cream, 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Whip the Filling
Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the mixture on medium speed until soft peaks form.
Assembling the Tiramisu

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the espresso-rum mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer Ladyfingers
Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.

Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the layer of ladyfingers, smoothing it out evenly.

Repeat the process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone filling.

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
