2. Prepare the Portafilter
Remove the portafilter from the espresso machine and add the ground coffee. Ensure the coffee is evenly distributed before tamping.
3. Tamp the Coffee
Use a tamper to press down firmly on the coffee grounds to create a compact puck. Ensure it's level and smooth.
Brewing
4. Attach the Portafilter
Lock the portafilter back into the espresso machine's group head securely.
5. Start Brewing
Turn on the espresso machine and begin brewing. Start a timer as soon as the extraction begins.
6. Monitor Extraction
Allow the espresso to brew for about 25-30 seconds until you have approximately 30 ml of espresso in your cup.
