Ingredients for Steak Style Wedges

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and scrub the russet potatoes thoroughly. Cut them into wedges, ensuring they are of even thickness for uniform cooking.

  2. 2

    Soak the Wedges

Place the potato wedges in a large bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and achieve crispiness.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Dry and Fry the Wedges

Drain the soaked potato wedges and pat them dry with paper towels. Carefully add a batch of wedges to the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Season the Wedges

While the wedges are still hot, sprinkle them generously with Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper to taste. Toss to coat evenly.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the steak style wedges immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
