Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot. You can test if it's ready by dropping a small piece of bread in the oil; it should sizzle.

Fry the Fish
Carefully place the breaded fish strips in the hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Fry the Hushpuppies
Drop spoonfuls of the batter into hot oil (same oil used for fish) and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
Cole Slaw

Combine Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, grated carrot, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
