Stuffed Jalapeños

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Jalapeños

Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. This will help reduce the heat.

  2. 2

    Make the Filling

In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with salt and black pepper until well combined.

  3. 3

    Stuff the Jalapeños

Fill each jalapeño half with the cream cheese mixture, making sure to pack it in well.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Battering Station

In one bowl, place the flour. In a second bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. In a third bowl, place the bread crumbs.

  5. 5

    Batter the Jalapeños

Dip each stuffed jalapeño first into the flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with bread crumbs.

  6. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  7. 7

    Fry the Jalapeños

Carefully place the battered jalapeños in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  8. 8

    Serve

Serve the gator eggs hot with ranch dressing on the side for dipping.
