Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to form fries.
- 2
Soak the Fries
Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Potatoes
Drain the fries and pat them dry with a towel. Carefully add the fries to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- 5
Drain and Season
Remove the fries from the oil and drain them on paper towels. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and mix in the garlic salt. Drizzle the garlic butter over the hot fries and toss to coat evenly.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
If desired, chop fresh parsley and sprinkle it over the fries. Serve immediately.
