Carbonated Soft Drinks (choose one)
Non-alcoholic Mixed Sodas (optional specialty mixes)
Optional additions & serving
Method
Basic Soda (single-serve)
Add ice
Place about 4–6 ice cubes in a standard 12–16 oz glass, adjusting to preference.
Pour soda
Select one carbonated beverage from the 'Carbonated Soft Drinks' section (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, or Root Beer). Open the can or bottle and slowly pour approximately 1 cup (8 fl oz) into the glass over the ice to retain carbonation and minimize foaming.
Roy Rogers (non-alcoholic cocktail)
Fill a highball glass with 4–6 ice cubes. Pour 1 cup (8 fl oz) of cola (Coke or similar) into the glass. Add 1 teaspoon of grenadine slowly; it will sink and create a layered color. Stir gently once or twice to incorporate slightly, or leave layered. Garnish with a maraschino cherry on top and serve with a straw.
Shirley Temple (non-alcoholic cocktail)
Fill a glass with 4–6 ice cubes. Pour 1 cup (8 fl oz) of lemon-lime soda (Sprite or 7Up) into the glass. Add 1 teaspoon of grenadine; it will sink and create a rosy hue. Stir gently if a uniform color is desired. Drop in a maraschino cherry and optionally squeeze a small wedge of lime or lemon over the drink and drop the wedge in. Serve immediately with a straw.
