Prepare Meatballs

Mix the Meatball Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped fresh basil, salt, black pepper, and red wine. Mix until well combined.

Shape the Meatballs
Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and browned on the outside.

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Stir in Fresh Basil
Once the sauce has thickened slightly, stir in the torn fresh basil and remove from heat.
Combine and Serve

Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Once the meatballs are baked, add them to the marinara sauce and let them simmer together for an additional 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Serve with Focaccia
Slice the focaccia bread and serve warm alongside the meatballs and marinara sauce, topped with additional grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil for garnish.
