Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Strawberries

Wash the fresh strawberries under cold running water. Remove the stems and slice them into halves or quarters, depending on your preference.

  2. 2

    Muddle the Ingredients

In a large pitcher, add the sliced strawberries and fresh basil leaves. Use a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon to gently mash the strawberries and basil together to release their juices and flavors.

  3. 3

    Add Lemon Juice

Pour the fresh lemon juice into the pitcher with the muddled strawberries and basil. Stir well to combine all the flavors.

  4. 4

    Sweeten the Mixture

Add honey or agave syrup to the mixture. Stir until the sweetener is fully dissolved and evenly distributed.

Serving

  1. 5

    Add Ice

Fill serving glasses with ice cubes. You can also chill the glasses beforehand for an extra refreshing touch.

  2. 6

    Pour the Cooler

Pour the strawberry-basil mixture over the ice in each glass, filling them about halfway.

  3. 7

    Top with Sparkling Water

Top each glass with sparkling water, filling to the brim. Stir gently to combine.

  4. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish each glass with a fresh basil leaf or a slice of lemon if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Strawberry Basil Cooler!
